distal break,
19 Feb

john said i disappeared and then all he heard was the car hitting, then running over, then dragging something beneath.
luckily that was my front wheel.
i woke up as they were putting me into the ambulance.
the wave of realization. . or the waves of realization: the gratitude for life but the disappointment of crashing, whirling.
i broke the distal portion of my left clavicle, right at the end of the titanium plate put in last august. I’ve already talked it through with Dr. Heiden. ..probably heading back to Salt Lake City soon

OH CRAPPY!!! Keep your spirits up and ask for the good painkillers, Scott. You’ll be back in no time.
Bethany
P.S. Kudos to John for his good driving!
Scott, take it easy and get better. And if you need anything just ask.
OK man. Somehow the spirit of our clavicles are running parallel in the universe. The breaks last year and the re-brakes now. The Enquirer may want to do a story on us
Scott, I had so many people (a whole school) with signs and chalk in Visalia! I wish you could have seen that. Praying for you,
Dave DR
Mr. Hussel,
I am so sorry to hear this news. Keep on keeping it real.
Kenny
Oh Man! Just try and get some rest, relaxation and def. good painkillers. You are our favorite pro cyclist and Timmy B has been passing on to me the “Tao of Scottie” every time we go for a ride.
David.
p.s. I dig your blogging prose.
NO SCOTTY NO!
S*!t Scott.
I’m sorry. Heal fast, have a safe rest of the season and I hope to see you here in SLC at the Tour of Utah. (With the KOM jersey!)

Hang in there, Scott. Time for some ’super-healing’!
