surgery numero dos, succeed

21 Feb

hanging out in park city UT, at an incredibly nice and graciously offered house on a hill, a huge hill a mountain, eastern slope of the Wasatch. ..tucked away into aspens for healing.

thanks Mike Kaeske.

surgery was successful. or at least that’s what i was told. everything seems to be connected and functional. . it’s just feels like some new hardware was just boared into my bones .. but, now though i can move and live without the worry or concern of having the bone finding/meeting again. . and then the dangerous window of time  where you can re-break it.

i’ll be on my bike again this week.

once again the doctors of BMC cam through, handing me off from one’s care to the next. Major called Testa who called Heiden who hurried home from his Hawaiian vacation to fit me that same afternoon he flew home.  . once again indebted.

rain, and more rain

15 Feb

it was raining at the start today,

then by the time it was really go time 100km into the race, the rain became more rain, and once up Howell mountain things mystically imploded. riders disappearing into the mist, haze.

some of the “we” narrowly missed the first group. then we tried to bring it back together. but the day the racing the conditions combined  and were much.

disappointment.

but mancebo, hearing that he big-ringed howell mountain, appeared to have deserved  the win todoay. apparently.

i was told to get in or make the breakaway move today.

on staight road, and an amp’ed scene, i didnt think the first flyer would have been let go. i foresaw more attacking, more teams thinking the same.

but, wrong.

but, we need to aim higher than “just getting inthe breakaway”. ..

today was tough,

there was no way around it.
